Yellow Dock (Rumex crispus): Yellow dock is used for chronic skin diseases including psoriasis, herpes, various eruptions, eczema and acne. It is also has a tonic laxative effect, which treats rheumstism and bile congestion. Sarsaparilla (Smilex medica): Sarsaparilla is used for various kinds of eruptive skin disorders including psoriasis. It also is an alterative , which proves helpful for rheumatic complaints. Sassafras (Sassafras albidum): Sassafras is very effective as a blood-purifying alterative for a wide variety of skin diseases including acne. Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale): The main benefits of this great herb are exerted upon the function of the liver. Dandelion has the capacity to clear obstructions and stimulate and aid the liver to eliminate toxins from the blood. In this way dandelion root is particularly used as a blood purifying herb, and also partially due to its high mineral content. Dandelion root helps decrease high blood pressure, thus aiding the action of the heart. Burdock (Arctium lappa): Burdock has an abundance of minerals, especially iron, that makes it especially valuable for the blood. It is a good blood purifier. The seeds and leaves are a strong surface purifier and are used for treating skin disorders. Burdock is an excellent remedy for skin diseases, taken alone, or with other blood purifiers such as dandelion and sarsaparilla. Prickly Ash Bark (Zanthoxylum americanum): Disperses Cold, drives out Dampness, and also treats arthritis and rheumatism. Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa): Treats rheumatic and arthritic complaints accompanied by feelings of heaviness. It also improves blood circulation. Cayenne pepper: (Capsicum frutescens)(You add to the blend) Tonifies Kidney Yang and drives the circulation. It can cure both diarrhea and constipation, and is useful for hemorrhoids. Ginger root (Zingiber officinale): (You add to the blend) Ginger acts as a stimulant and warming agent. I find it best to use the fresh root, as the dried root changes its energy from warm to HOT. The taste will be very different. Cascara bark (Cascara sagrada): Assists in regulating the bowels, when used in the proper dosage. It does not create laxative dependency and is one of the safer laxatives during pregnancy and atonic conditions. Licorice rt. (Glycyrrhiza uralensis): Harmonize the actions of the other herbs.
