Dandelion rt. (Taraxacum officinale): The main benefits of this herb are exerted upon the function of the liver. It has the ability to clear obstructions and stimulate and aid the liver to eliminate toxins from the blood. It also has a very high mineral content, which many of our foods today lack due to depleted soils. The leaf is one of the finest diuretics, and can be taken for fluid retention, cystitis, nephritis, weight loss, and hepatitis. Burdock rt. (Arctium lappa): A cooling, bitter herb, is useful for clearing heat and is useful for clearing inflammations and fluid retention. Also useful for clearing skin diseases. Parsley rt. (Petroselinum hortense): Is good for water retention and urinary tract infections. Parsley regulates fluid balance. Marshmallow rt. (Althaea officinalis): Is useful for inflammation and irritation in the pelvic region. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis): Harmonize the actions of the other herbs. Ginger root (Zingiber officinale): (You add to the blend) Ginger acts as a stimulant and warming agent. I find it best to use the fresh root, as the dried root changes its energy from warm to HOT. The taste will be very different.
